How to support us

How to support us through your prayers

We would be delighted to have you pray for our work and our ministry. Please let us know that you are doing so.  Sunday services form the core element of our worship (see here for more information); however, there is also the mid-week service (Thursdays at 10.30 am) and there are also a number of occasional services held throughout the year.  If you are in hospital or housebound and would like a pastoral visit and/or Holy Communion please contact the clergy.  The Prayer Group & Bible Study meets during the year (see Organisations Page) and they would be delighted to welcome you to their meetings and/or pray for you.  If you require other details of our worship structures please see elsewhere in this pack or contact the clergy.

The following prayers may be of use to you:

FOR THE CARE OF CHILDREN

Almighty God, heavenly Father, you have blessed us with the joy and care of children: Give us calm strength and patient wisdom as we bring them up, that we may teach them to love whatever is just and true and good, following the example of our Saviour Jesus Christ.  Amen.

FOR FAMILIES

O God, we pray for our family life, that we all may grow together in awareness of your love, that our lives together may reflect your brightness and your goodness. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE HOME

O Lord, bless this household; grant us health and peacefulness, fun and friendship, a warm and welcoming spirit, and a gentleness that quickly forgives, now and always. Amen.

FOR THOSE IN AFFLICTION OR DISTRESS

Almighty Father, be present, we beseech you, with those who are in sorrow, in suffering, in sickness, or in distress; and be their abiding stay and succour; for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR THE PARISH

Almighty God, we beseech you to bless this our parish. Forgive us our many and grievous sins. Prosper the reading and preaching of your Word, and bless all the ministrations of your Church. Give patience to the sick and afflicted. Visit with your favour the schools and all who teach or learn there; and make us to grow in grace and in the knowledge of you and of your dear Son, whom to know is life eternal. Hear us for the sake of him who died for us, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

FOR RECOLLECTION OF THE PRESENCE OF GOD

O heavenly Father, in whom we live and move and have our being; We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our daily life we may never forget you, but remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A PRAYER OF THE EASTERN CHURCH

Be mindful, O Lord, of your people present here before you, and of those who are absent through age, sickness, or infirmity. Care for the infants, guide the young, support the aged, encourage the faint-hearted, collect the scattered, and bring back the wandering to your fold. Travel with the voyagers, defend the widows, shield the orphans, deliver the captives, heal the sick. Succour all who are in tribulation, necessity, or distress.  Remember for good all those that love us, and those that hate us, and those that have desired us, unworthy as we are, to pray for them. And those whom we have forgotten, do you, O Lord, remember. For you are the helper of the helpless, the saviour of the lost, the refuge of the wanderer, the healer of the sick. You, who know the need of each one, and has heard their prayer, grant unto each according to your merciful loving-kindness, and your eternal love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A PRAYER FOR OURSELVES

O Lord, support us all the day long until the shades lengthen, and the evening comes, and the busy world is hushed, the fever of life is over, and our work is done.  Then, Lord, in your mercy grant us safe lodging, a holy rest, and peace at the last; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

How to support us through your giving

Holy Trinity, Killiney maintains a lively Christian witness within the City of Dublin and beyond, but money is always necessary to keep such beautiful old buildings going, to help those less fortunate than ourselves and also to develop creative and interesting programmes in the parish. You can support us with your financial giving in a number of ways:

  • by a weekly envelope
  • by a monthly standing order
  • by an annual subscription
  • by the collection at the church service

‘Structured Giving’ through standing order or the envelope system is encouraged, as it is more beneficial to both you and the parish.  For contributions of €250 per year from individuals (PAYE and Self-Assessed) the parish, as a registered charity, can avail of and benefit from tax rebates. Tax relief is to be given at a blended rate of 31% to all tax payers regardless of their marginal rate.  The Parish will issue you with an annual receipt and a form which will enable the parish to recoup the tax on the amount of your donation.  This means that a gift of €250 is actually worth €362.32 and a gift of  €1,000 is worth €1,449.28 to the parish.

We are very grateful to all those parishioners who participate in this scheme – it means a lot to us in terms of our annual budget

Become a Donor

You can make a donation for any amount to Holy Trinity.  Donations can be one-off, or continue over an agreed period of time.  Please contact the Rector or Hon. Treasurer for further information.

Legacy giving

If you would like to consider supporting our work through a legacy please contact the clergy. We would be honoured to assist you in planning a gift that will benefit both the Church and the community which it serves.

Your giving is vital for the Church and is much appreciated. Parishioner contributions are the primary source of income for the parish.

For further information on ‘Structured Giving’ and for other options of giving please contact Hon. Treasurer.

Please note that all donations are treated with the utmost confidentiality
